John Cena will walk away from the WWE for good in 2025.
The 47-year-old professional wrestling legend shockingly announced his retirement during the Money in the Bank pay-per-view show in Toronto on Saturday night.

Cena explained his decision and why he chose to break the news in front of a crowd of Canadians.
“Tonight, I officially announce my retirement from the WWE,” he said.
“I have been doing this a while, I’ve been in WWE for over two decades. And in that time I’ve seen incredible waves of prosperity like we’ve got right now.
“WWE is the hottest ticket in town, no doubt. And I’ve also seen tremendous hardship.
“That’s when no one knows your name, nobody wants to be a friend and only the most dedicated, hardcore fans stand by your side.
“In all those years, one of the most important, impressive things that I learned was whether the WWE was hot or cold, Canadians always show up.”
“Thank you so much for letting me play in the house you built for so many years.”
Huge gasps made way for a chorus of ‘Thank you, Cena’ after he confirmed that his final WWE appearance will be at WrestleMania 41 in April 2025.

Fans watching at home were caught off guard by Cena’s announcement.
One person tweeted: “A childhood hero,”
Another wrote: “Genuinely might cry.”
Someone else said: “Thank you Cena. Wow man.”
A fourth fan commented: “I was not prepared for this news today.”
Cena made his WWE debut in 2002 and has been a massive star ever since.
During his time with the promotion, he’s become a 16-time WWE champion.
Cena is widely regarded as one of the greatest professional wrestlers ever, but in recent years he’s been competing on a part-time basis due to his successful acting career.
It appears that will be his main focus after next year’s WrestleMania event.
