John Cena has had no shortage of takers for opponents during his retirement year, but Bron Breakker has decided to take it one step further and challenge the WWE legend.
Wrestler turned Hollywood megastar Cena announced at July’s Money in the Bank event that he’ll be bringing his career as an active wrestler to a close next year.

Addressing a raucous crowd in Canada, the icon said: “Thank you so much for letting me play in the house you built for so many years.”
Cena has confirmed he’ll commence something of a farewell tour in 2025, his aim being to feature across ’30 or 40’ dates over the course between next January and December.
He’ll likely feature in a final Royal Rumble, SummerSlam and Survivor Series and of course a last appearance at a WrestleMania.
With plenty of times, dates and venues to pack in what will be emotionally charged farewell matches, many options have already presented themselves.
Brit TNA star turned WWE NXT favourite Joe Hendry has thrown his name into the mix, while CM Punk has insisted he get a look in– WWE fans even named long-time Cena rival Randy Orton as a name they’d like to see the veteran go up against before 2025 runs its course.
Few have gone as far as to call out the multi time former world champion, however, until Breakker did so in no uncertain terms in a recent interview.
Breakker won his first main roster WWE title this past weekend at SummerSlam by defeating Sami Zayn but, just before that, had already insisted Cena step up to try and take the coveted tile away from him.
Speaking to Muscle Man Malcolm, the powerhouse starlet was adamant the Peacemaker star should try and complete his set of WWE championships, with the Intercontinental gold the only one to elude Cena across his illustrious WWE career.

“John Cena, he’s never won the Intercontinental Championship before,” he commented. “So, I say, come take it from me. Come take the championship from me.
“Grow some balls and come take the championship from me. Let’s go, let’s do it.”
A contest between Cena and Breakker is far from outside the realms of possibility – the tenured star has already used his status in recent years to elevate up-and-coming WWE stars.
Austin Theory claimed a win over Cena at WrestleMania last year, while Solo Sikoa, this past weekend a challenger for the Undisputed WWE title, also beat Cena when they met in Saudi Arabia.
As strong as an endorsement it may be to get a good showing against the veteran, it might be the case that Breakker’s stock continues to rise regardless.
He made a massive impression during his early days on Raw by dishing out an eye-watering beating to exiting WWE star Ricochet.
Saturday’s victory saw him snare the Intercontinental gold from Sami Zayn, who’d held the title since WrestleMania.
The 26-year-old is a star almost entirely of WWE’s own making. He trained at the company’s Orlando Performance Centre before breaking into NXT, where he twice held their top male title.
