Logan Paul has finally dipped his toe back in the wrestling ring after four months away and says he felt ‘at home.’
The YouTube star turned boxer and wrester has been away from the wrestling since losing his WWE United States Championship to LA Knight back at SummerSlam.
Though Paul has been clear about setting his sights firmly on a sizable run back in the industry in 2025, his return remains eagerly anticipated ahead of WWE’s huge switch to Netflix in the New Year.
While Netflix has snared the television rights to Monday Night Raw in the US and the star wrestles on SmackDown, he’ll still be seen by millions around the world on the streaming platform as it will also air the company’s pay-per-view offerings like WrestleMania and Royal Rumble.
In the UK, even Raw – along with WWE’s entire TV output – will be shown via Netflix, giving Paul a gigantic audience to perform to, just as his brother Jake did in his show-down against boxing icon Mike Tyson.
Logan even hinted at a collaboration with his brother when he makes his WWE comeback, Jake keen to act as his sibling’s on-screen manager someday.
“I’m gonna go for it,” Logan stated on his Impulsive podcast, of his desire for triumph on his return.
“Perhaps If you become world champion and retire, and I’m still wrestling, you could be my manager who also has a mean right hand.”
Quite when Logan will return to regular wrestling programming – or whether his brother appears with him– remains to be seen, but he has at least had his grappling gear back on.
The star revealed he was present at a recent WWE and Netflix shoot, saying: “This was goofy, but I put on that outfit, and I was like: ‘Oh, yeah, my wrestling outfit.’ We were doing the shoot. I put on my WWE outfit, and I haven’t put it on in a couple months, and I felt good. I felt at home.”
Once the former viral star is back in situ as a wrestler on a more permanent basis, it appears he’ll be equipped with added wisdom, courtesy of a text exchange with WWE legend John Cena, who embarks on his retirement run in 2025.
Doing a little soul-searching, the 29-year-old revealed he was struck by one phrase Cena used in particular, his words clearly leaving a significant impact.
“I shot [Cena] a text about something, he told me this: ‘Comparison is the thief of joy.’ But I’ve never really understood it, and I still don’t think I fully understand it, but it makes sense to me.
“I’m realising something about myself, and that’s, I do compare myself to people in the sense that I’m competitive, and I use it as fuel to motivate me to do better.
“[That] has always worked for me, but I’m also wondering if it is the thief of joy. While I am reaching these pinnacles, am I happy doing it? Am I doing it because I found that motivation inside me, or did it come from an external source?
“Also, does it matter? I don’t know.”
Logan Paul will add to a stacked WWE roster including Roman Reigns, Cody Rhodes, CM Punk, Kevin Owens and Cena – at least for 2025 – and is a star in his own right, despite wrestling just 15 matches in his career.
He debuted in 2022 alongside The Miz at WrestleMania and has been used sparingly since, battling the likes of Reigns, Rhodes and Rey Mysterio before his last outing with Knight.
