Raw makes a long-awaited debut on Netflix on Monday, January 6, marking the beginning of a new era for professional wrestling.
While WWE will be looking to the future when it lands on the streaming service, the company took a moment to throwback to the past with a unique promotional video.
The iconic Monday Night Raw intro from 2001 has been remixed for 2025, featuring members of the current roster.
Roman Reigns, Cody Rhodes, Liv Morgan, Logan Paul and Rhea Ripley all feature in the video, which is set to ‘Thorn In Your Eye’ – the track that served as the Raw theme song from 1997 until 2002.
“All these years later and it still gets us hyped! See you Monday for Raw on Netflix,” WWE wrote, sharing the video on social media.
Unsurprisingly, the throwback went down very well with fans, and was viewed more than one million times over the weekend.
Many were even left begging Netflix to do one thing ahead of Raw’s debut.
“My god i hope that’s the new intro and they’ve brought back that epic music from the Attitude Era,” one person wrote.
“Is this gonna be the theme on Netflix?” another questioned.
“Make this the actual intro I beg,” a third said.
“That song just brings the intensity that is needed to start a show. Bring it back Netflix!” a fourth demanded.
While fans are desperate to see Raw open with the classic theme on Netflix, that is unlikely to happen.
Instead, a new song from rapper Travis Scott is expected to usher in the flagship brand’s new era, per a news release from the streamer.
Scott will also feature on the star-studded debut show, which will air live from the Intuit Dome in Los Angeles – but it is not yet clear if he will be performing or stepping into the ring as part of a storyline.
Others slated to appear at the premiere include John Cena, who will formally retire from wrestling this year, Logan Paul, Cody Rhodes and Roman Reigns.
Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson has also confirmed he will be making a return to WWE for the ‘historic’ show, which he has dedicated to all who have paved the way.
“I’ll come back home to WWE tomorrow night as we make history on Netflix and begin a new and exciting era,” he wrote on X.
“Tomorrow night is dedicated to my grandfather, the High Chief Peter Maivia, my grandmother, Lia Maivia and my dad, Rocky ‘Soulman’ Johnson and my ancestors who have ALL paved the way.”
WWE is expected to stack the card for the debut show, and have already announced the episode will feature a match between Morgan and Ripley for the Women’s World Championship.
Other bouts including Reigns vs Solo Sikoa and CM Punk vs Seth Rollins have also been confirmed.
