Tyson Fury has been offered a route back to WWE to rake in millions – if his boxing retirement is indeed for real this time.

British tag-team sensation Pretty Deadly have high hopes of facing John Cena this year, who is similarly walking away from the ring.

Fury announced on Monday that he is now retired from boxing less than a month after his second successive defeat against Oleksandr Usyk.

Many have questioned if the Gypsy King’s decision is authentic, given several similar announcements where he ultimately went to fight on.

In contrast, none of Cena’s WWE colleagues share any doubts that the wrestling icon won’t retire as intended later this year.

The 16-time champion has embarked on a farewell tour in 2025 before permanently making the switch to Hollywood.

During an exclusive interview with talkSPORT.com, Pretty Deadly duo Elton Prince and Kit Wilson were hopeful of getting one of the coveted opportunities to face Cena – with a subtle nod to Fury.

Elton said: “Obviously, it would be an absolute dream to be able to get to share the ring, especially not like other people’s retirement.

“No heat, no shade, but not like other people’s retirements.

“We all fully understand that once this year is over, it’s done, which is quite, you know, quite sad, isn’t it? It’s an end of an era.

“So, yeah, we would love to get in the ring with him. Maybe there’s a possibility we’d have to see how it plays out.

“Who would you see that tag partner with? What’s that headline? Pretty deadly versus John Cena and Randy Orton.”

Another potential blockbuster name that could be an option for Cena is an unlikely partnership with Fury now that the latter is retired.

Fury’s one and only match with WWE came in a winning effort against Braun Strowman at Crown Jewel in October 2019.

He was reportedly paid a fee of just under £20m for the fleeting WWE run and has made several cameo appearances since.

When the company staged SmackDown at the Manchester Arena, he effectively teamed up with former foe Strowman to take out Bo Dallas and Curtis Axel.

He was ringside at Clash at the Castle in Cardiff three years later and engaged in an impromptu karaoke session with Drew McIntyre.

As for a 2025 return as Cena’s partner, Kit added to talkSPORT: “Well, he has recently retired, so I think he’s ready and he’s gearing up and he might be, you know, who knows?

“But Cena, someone we grew up with, as with Randy Orton, two legends. We’ve already beat Randy. So why not chuck John in there?

“We’ll send them on home. Send them packing.”

The Brit pair were keen to get in Cena’s good graces before any potential dust-up – by highlighting one of his former rivalries.

Pretty Deadly are expected to be among the breakout beneficiaries of WWE’s massive $5bn (£4bn) move to Netflix.

Lots of the company’s archival content has already been uploaded to the streaming platform, with fans raving about certain new features.

For both casual and curious fans checking it out, Pretty Deadly earmarked the height of Super Cena as a good place to start.

When asked for their Netflix picks, Kit told talkSPORT: “Wow. I would choose as we’re in John Cena’s retirement year. Let’s look back at the beautiful history.

“And I think my favourite match as a child, as a teenager, and probably even now because I don’t necessarily, you know, you’re watching it slightly different – But I would say John Cena versus Umaga. Last man standing match.

“I love both of those performers. It was everything. Yeah. So yeah, go back and watch that.

Elton added: “I think that’s a great start in general because you could just do the whole ruthless aggression era. You really could.”

The perfect warmup to what will soon be the deadly aggression era…

WWE arrived on Netflix earlier this month, with all programming available on the streaming service in the UK, including RAW, SmackDown, NXT, Premium Live Events and WWE Archives.
