The WWE universe began to buzz last week with the news that The Rock was going to make a return to the company.
The Rock, also known as Hollywood’s highest earning actor for the past two years, Dwayne Johnson, is a WWE legend and almost certainly the biggest star the wrestling business has ever seen.

According to Andrew Zarian of the Mat Men Podcast, Rock is planned to return to WWE at Survivor Series in November this year on the 25 year anniversary of his WWE debut.
That appearance was reported to lead to kick-starting his feud with Roman Reigns which would lead to a showdown at WrestleMania 38. This run would also include appearances on both RAW and SmackDown, Zarian reported.
However, The Rock has denied those claims.
The Rock had a chat with Entertainment Tonight alongside his Jungle Cruise co-star, Emily Blunt on the premiere of their new movie. When asked if he can tease anything about his rumoured WWE return, Rock simply said: “There’s nothing.”

Blunt then joked they’re going to be forming a tag team: “[It’s] gonna be me and him, and there’s gonna be a big fight.”
Of course, Rock is highly, highly unlikely to outright confirm those reports and ruin a potential surprise. Why would he unveil any upcoming plans for a big return? Whether it’s wishful thinking on this writer’s behalf or not, it seems par for the course he’d deny the reports, and succinctly so.
Edge did the exact same ahead of his comeback from retirement in 2020.
Regardless, the recently returned John Cena, who is also making a footprint in Hollywood these days, is desperate to see Rock back in the WWE.

“Dwayne Johnson is a star in his own universe. There is no one like him,” Cena said, also to Entertainment Tonight.
“There will never be anyone like him. For him to be gracious enough to return to WWE, it’s own global entertainment phenomenon, that’s great for WWE and it is great for The Rock.
“As a fan of WWE, I really hope he returns. I think it would be special for everyone,” Cena added, noting that he did not want to speak for The Rock.
