The wrestling world is in full flow right now and to the shock of everybody, AEW have taken a commanding lead in the early ratings wars over WWE.
Let’s dig into the latest news:
John Cena shares advice The Rock gave him
Speaking on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, Cena revealed what advice Rock gave him when the pair squashed their beef: “He gave me a piece of advice that still rings in my ears like he said it yesterday. And it was — I don’t even know if he knows this was such sage advice. He just turned to me as smooth and casual as he always does with everything he says, and in such an inspirational tone, as with everything he does.
He was like, ‘Just be yourself, man. That’s why they asked you there in the first place.’ And that message of always be authentically yourself has stuck with me, and created the opportunity that I have.”
Jordan Myles racism situation
Jordan Myles, real name, Albert Hardie Jr, tweeted his displeasure at a shirt WWE released for him that seemed to have some racial connotations connected to it, albeit unintentionally.
Myles was furious and went on a rant on Twitter. When WWE suggested he approved the shirt, Myles proved he approved a different version that had different colours making all the difference. WWE Hall of Famer Mark Henry has since stated that he knows Myles is going through some personal issues and Dave Meltzer has also confirmed this is not a work or angle – obviously.
Sami Zayn reveals why he mentioned AEW in his promo earlier this year
“It really was not a big story other than what was on the internet. At the end of the day, the segment was a small new segment that we were trying for people. An unscripted thing. I knew that if we say ”AEW” that was the way that people will talk about it.
That’s exactly what happened. As you see, nothing really happened after I said that. It was done once, and nothing happened.
Much more controversy on the internet on the subject, but it’s important to have the people talking about it. It was a small segment for one time only, to have the people talking about it, that was the idea.”
