Finn Balor plays down NXT’s rivalry with AEW
NXT airs on the USA Network and AEW airs on TNT, both on Wednesday nights.
Since AEW’s debut episode last month, Tony Khan’s company have beaten NXT in television ratings each time.
Balor, who recently returned to WWE’s developmental brand and turned heel last week, appears to be unconcerned by the rivalry.
He told Sports Illustrated: “I don’t know if we’re competing with anyone. The only person I’m competing with is myself from yesterday.
“I’m trying to be better than who I was yesterday. On this Wednesday, I’m going to be better than I was last Wednesday.
“That’s the way I approach life and that’s how I evolve. I don’t worry about what other people are doing. I’m focused on the brand I’m currently working for.”
John Cena opens up on his feud with The Rock
Cena and The Rock headlined back-to-back WrestleManias in 2012 and 2013.
The Rock won the first bout as Cena captured the WWE Championship from his foe in the final match.
The 42-year-old told The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon: “The Rock and I are most known for our tremendous WWE feud that broke WWE pay-per-view records.
“And we kind of talked a lot of trash about each other. Now, we also had a follow-up match a year later.
“So, we spent a year making fun of each other, and then, one night beating each other up. And then we were like, ‘did we just become best friends?’ Yep!’
“So, basically, we were able to set aside our differences on that night.”
Alexa Bliss’ absence explained
Bliss has not been seen in a WWE ring since losing the Women’s Tag Team titles to the Kabuki Warriors at Hell in a Cell earlier this month.
Since then, her tag team partner Nikki Cross won a Six-Pack Challenge match to earn the right to face Bayley for the SmackDown Women’s Championship at a later date.
Sportskeeda claim Bliss, a five-time Women’s champion, is on a break, which was granted by WWE, because she has not been needed in any current storylines.
