John Cena gave the world more than they bargained as he appeared on stage completely naked at the Oscars.
Even more awkwardly, the stunt came in front of WWE star and ex-fiance, Nikka Bella.
The showing came as host Jimmy Kimmel referenced the 50-year anniversary of a streaker named Robert Opel running onto the stage at the ceremony, interrupting late actor-presenter David Niven.
He then asked: “Can you imagine if a nude man ran across the stage today? I said, can you imagine if – a nude man ran across the stage today? Wouldn’t that be crazy?”
As part of the skit, Cena called Kimmel to his position side-stage as he expressed that he was getting cold feet over the idea of streaking on stage, ultimately leading to him side-shuffling to the podium with an envelope covering his modesty.
Presenting the Best Costume Design award, Cena said: “Costumes – they are so important – maybe the most important thing there is,” before Kimmel took the card and presented the award.
As the lights went down, footage then showed Cena swiftly being covered up by a golden toga.
While the WWE legend’s skit went down well with those in attendance, one person who may not have been impressed was Bella.
Bella and Cena started dating in 2012 before getting engaged in 2017 following a mixed tag team match at WrestleMania 33.
However that engagement was called off just a year later.
Both Bella and Cena have since married other partners, however the sight of your ex revealing almost-all in front of the world might have been an uncomfortable watch.
That fact wasn’t lost on fans on social media either, with one writing “Nikki Bella being there while her ex-fiancé (John Cena) is naked on stage,” with a crying emoji.
“Just realized Nikki Bella saw her Ex John Cena wilding on stage man LMAOOOOOOOOOO!” wrote another.
Meanwhile a third said: “I just discovered that Nikki Bella is present at the Oscar gala and has seen her ex, John Cena, do… that.”
